AIMS & SCOPE

Reviews in Food & Agriculture (RFNA), is a multidisciplinary open access journal, publishing scientifically sound peer-reviewed research, including replication studies, in food, nutrition, veterinary and agricultural sciences. The journal provides a fast, flexible and reliable option for open access publishing, helping authors share their work across disciplines and with a global audience. Our Editors, each a specialist in their subject area, assess manuscripts objectively and fairly and provide quality, constructive and timely peer review. Rather than accepting manuscripts based on their level of importance or impact, editors assess manuscripts objectively, accepting valid, scientific research with sound rigorous methodology. Article-level metrics let the research speak for itself.

Reviews in Food & Agriculture considers original research and review articles in the following sections and broad topical areas:

Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Sciences

All fields of animal production and veterinary sciences are covered in this section. Manuscripts on the following issues are welcome: animal feed and nutrition, breeding and genetics, farming systems, reproduction, growth, ethology, welfare of production and companion animals, pathology and health management. All farmed species and production systems are considered, including alternative and exotic species, aquaculture and game farming.

Entomology

All aspects of entomology including new species, pest management, biocontrol, disease, nematology, apiculture, acarology, and arthropodology and their intersection with other disciplines such as genetics, metabolism, pesticides, insect growth regulators, behaviour, biomechanics, physiology, developmental biology, ecology, morphology, environmental impact, paleontology, and natural history are welcome. The application of insects to farming and agriculture is also of interest.

Food Science & Technology

Food science examines everything that can happen to food from harvest to consumption and beyond. Therefore, food science, technology, and engineering draw on chemistry, microbiology, engineering, packaging, agronomy, physiology, toxicology, public health, nutrition, dietetics, economics, marketing, and law; consequently, we encourage papers to this section that are inherently multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary.

Soil & Crop Sciences

Experimental manuscripts related to all fields of agronomy and crop sciences and its relation to the physical, chemical and biological properties of soil are sought. Topics may cover plant-soil relationships, crop production, management and quality, agroecosystems and the environment, horticultural crops, organic farming and control of diseases related to agricultural crops.
